Municipal Market of Famalicão

The film portrays ‘Um Dia na Praça’ (‘A Day in the Square’) at the Municipal Market of Famalicão, which was designed by the architect Rui Mendes Ribeiro. In this film, it is possible to witness the functionality and flexibility of the space, the ways in which the old market and the expansion coexist, and also how light and people move inside the building throughout the day! In the course of three minutes, we are taken to a place where the white, geometric, and contemporary architecture contrasts with the colors of vegetables, fish, and flowers… and people of different ages who gather and buy groceries in this public space of the city.
